Avascular necrosis of the hip 
is a frequently seen condition in young patients. It is of diverse origin and its treatment is controversial. Surgical treatment remains the key stone in late cases with hip replacement as the proved and tested method. Dear Sir,
Due to a road accident my femoral neck was broken on May 2005, After that my femur was fixed by 3 screw. Doctor investigate my femur was fixed. On september 2009 the screw was withdrawn. But few months I feel severe pain. Then it was detected that, there developed AVN and it will cured by hep replacement. I am steel moving every where with a single crutch without feeling pain.
At this stage is it possible to treat my avn by steam cells. What is the probable cost of this treatment. Please inform.

Stem cell treatment is only possible in the early stages of AVN. The stage can be judged on the basis of CT and MRI scans.
My son is 15 years old and was diagnosed with we wetness granulamatosis in November 2010 and has been on long term steroids which in time have caused weakness in the bones on march 17th this year he broke his hip following a fall from his pony. The hip was operated on and fixed with 2 pins. My son is still limping and today we went for an x ray and the consultant said Ellis had developed avn and there was nothing that could be done to reverse this. The fracture has healed and they are now arranging for the pins to be removed. Please do you think the stem cell treatment would help my son. I look forward to your reply.

Due to accident in 2008 my femur neck n shaft was broken. It was treated by inserting rod in femur shaft and 2 screws in femur neck. I got no problem after that and few mnths back i got pain in hip joint. And it was detected as AVN.
